Hodgdon H380 was originally developed for use in the 22-250 Remington becoming known for its accuracy and high velocity. H380 is also a superb performer in the 220 Swift, 243, 257 Roberts and other fine varmint cartridges.

In a 22-250, 243, 250 Savage and 30-06 it works quite well. In the 30-06 a CCI250 primer seems to work best but standard primers in everything else is adequate. It meters and trickles beautifully. Lighter bullets in these calibers don’t seem to print quite as accurately as heavy ones. it does seem to be a consistent trait across the board. Clean burning and consistent velocities make it a good choice.

This powder works great in .243. Can be used with 55g Varmint bullets. stuck to the minimum loads as not shooting past 150 and it barely got any drop at that yardage and powder goes a little farther. Doesn’t heat the barrel up as bad as other handloads and meters very well.

This was designed for the 22-250 cartridge. It is called 380 for the powder load of 38.0 grains. Use a charge of 37.3 grains with a 55 grain bullet. Works well. Used in 22-250 for predator hunting and prairie dogs, great results. This is one of those powders that lasts the test of time and is still a top performer in my 22-250, even with all the new super-dooper extruded wonder powders out there.

Used H380 in the 22-250 and 30-06. I get the best accuracy in 22-250 compared to other good choices like IMR 4064, 4895, RL15. This powder will burn clean when it’s run at the right pressure but tends to run dirty in lighter loads.

This powder is awesome in Tikka T3 Lite 300 wsm, 168gr Berger hunting vld bullet, magnum primers, Winchester brass. 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards out of a weapon that boasts 1″ groups at 100 yards. Excellent results loading this powder with 174 gr fmj for 7.62x54r.

This is the best powder used for consistent accuracy on my 22-250s. This powder runs like salt through Dillon 650 and stays consistent weight drop after drop of the powder measure. After loading IMR 3031 for years and hacking through it with the powder measure, then using a Trickler, this powder has made it a joy to reload again.
